Team Coaching
Maintaining the emotional well-being of a team is crucial to its functionality. Empirical studies have shown a direct correlation between the level of positivity within a team to its success at achieving business goals. Clarity of vision from the leader is another essential element of team functionality. So this is where our team coaching starts. Our initial session is with the Leader supporting them with clarifying and developing the vision.
Alongside this we work separately with the team both, as a group and individually to establish the reality of the situation; this may also include interviewing direct reports and running psychometric tests. This will reveal individual styles, fears and aspirations and any issues with the team or the leadership. The leader then presents the vision to the team. The executive coach works with the leader to ensure that the messages are heard and understood and facilitates the group presentation and feedback to ensure that this is the case. Then through a combination of individual and team coaching the executive coach works with the team to support them in:
- making the vision theirs both individually and as a team
- developing and agreeing the team rules; and ensuring buy-in from everyone
- understanding how they can use the leader’s vision to achieve their goals and fulfil their needs both individually and as a team
Changes will need to be made but when these come together the results will be the transformation of individuals and the team to achieve high levels of productivity and mutual support.
